Major Planning Application for Bembridge   (24 June 2010)
A planning application for the demolition of a dwelling and outbuildings and construction of 28 warden assisted flats contained within two blocks with glazed link parking dedicated mobility buggy parking and associated landscaping is to be considered by the Parish Council at their planning meeting on the 6th July at 6.30pm in the village hall. Members of the public are able to attend the meeting and speak on the application. It is understood the developer will be in attendance.

The site of the proposal is know as The Thatched House, 66 Foreland Road, Bembridge. Full plans can be inspected at the Parish Office during normal opening hours or by appointment or by going to iow.gov.uk and following the links to the planning site.

Comments on the plans must be with the Isle of Wight Council before the 7th July.

The site has been subject to various planning applications during the last five years and presently has planning permission for demolition of the cottage with replacement by 4 detached houses.
