Bembridge Wins Best Extra Large Village Award 2010 (5 July 2010)

It was with some surprise that we learnt that Bembridge had won the best extra large village award on the Isle of Wight in 2010.
The Memorial Garden scored the highest marking possible and thanks must go to Barbara Clough and her loyal band of helpers along with Tony and Pete the Parish Lengthsmen for the work they do in the garden.
The village was also complimented on the facilities we have for older and disabled people.
Comment was made that we would have won the best village overall on the Island, the one thing that let us down was the rubbish around the new skateboard area in Steyne Park and we will be speaking to youngsters about keeping the area tidy.
Well done to all residents who make Bembridge such a pleasant place to live.
