Eastern Yar Flood and Erosion Management Strategy (27 July 2010)

The report sets out how we consulted the public throughout the development of the strategy and provides details and statistics from our formal consultation period. We have also provided our response to many of the comments and questions we received.

We have summarised these comments into five groups as follows:

1/ Link between the Duver and Embankment Road
2/ Route of the proposed wall along Embankment Road
3/ Protection of property at St Helens
4/ Flood risk management at Sandown
5/ Other comments

We are progressing well with the process of gaining approval on the Eastern Yar Flood and Erosion Management Strategy. We have presented the strategy to the Regional Flood Defence Committee. The Isle of Wight Council Cabinet approved the strategy at their meeting on the 1st June 2010. Our programme is still to have all of our approvals and publish the final strategy by the end of 2010.
