Bembridge Parish Council is about to start considering its budget and precept (the money you pay to the Parish Council as part of your council tax bill) for Bembridge in 2019-20. This year, the Parish Council has delivered a wide range of local services including public toilets, a recreation ground, a children’s playground, footpaths, restoration and improvements to the War Memorial Gardens, open spaces, a multi-use Village Hall, burial services, a youth and community centre, beach cleaning and planting schemes around the village, a community bus, regular Friendship Circle meetings in the Village Hall, maintenance of Lane End Cemetery, a Dragons Den awards evening, a Christmas Star Competition, Bembridge in Bloom Competition, Men in Sheds and care and planting of trees around the village, not to mention a soon -to-be-installed Wave Sculpture, with associated time capsule illustrating the endless charms of our special Village, which will be situated at Lane End, close to the stunning mural painted by a local artist. Watch this space for new projects in 2019/20 as well!
