|“Our fortnightly garden waste subscription service is entering its third year in 2020 – and it’s been so popular that we’re increasing the number of homes that we can visit,” said Councillor Steve Hastings, Cabinet member for waste and recycling management.
Residents who want to join this service in 2020 can put their name on the waiting list now by providing their email and postal address online: https://bit.ly/2QAbOKQ. Subscriptions will open in mid-February to start collections for the April-March 2020/21 subscription year.
“7,000 households already subscribe to our fortnightly kerbside collection garden waste service, which is great for avid gardeners and garden maintenance people alike”, says Steve.
“It’s fantastic that we’re now able to offer 3,000 more spaces. The most positive and regular feedback that I hear from people across the Island is that it is a great timesaver, with less trips to the tip meaning that they can spend more time enjoying the fruits of their labours, relaxing in the garden.”
Existing subscribers whose contract period is due to end will be contacted directly within the next few weeks regarding their current subscription, with details of how to renew their subscription for 2020 and beyond.
If you’d like to add your name to the waiting list for the next round of subscriptions, go online to: https://bit.ly/2QAbOKQ and complete your name and address.
The council’s garden waste subscription year operates from April to March each year.
Current customers will be sent information on how to renew in February.
