Government business support grants will soon be distributed to Island businesses.
The Isle of Wight Council has confirmed that the money for the Local Restrictions Support Grant and Additional Restrictions Grant from the government arrived today (Friday) and distribution will begin from next Monday.
The two funds are intended to help Island businesses that have had to close, or that can remain open but are severely impacted by the lockdown.
Businesses which are eligible should submit their details via the Isle of Wight Council’s website to ensure they get the money they are entitled to.
Councillor Wayne Whittle, Cabinet member for regeneration and business development, said: “The government funding has arrived as anticipated, which means we will now be able to start the process of distributing the grants which are essential to support our businesses.
“The council is committed to distributing the additional funding to support businesses as quickly as possible, so the damage to our economy is kept to a minimum.
